Welcome to eTourism
Hosted by Joanne Phythian - (contact)
The Tourism industry on the NSW North Coast is significant with the region receiving over 65% of visitors in regional NSW. It is estimated the domestic and international travellers contribute more than $2.9 billion to the regional economy. Large sections of the regional economy, such as accommodation, retail and restaurants are reliant on a strong tourism market.

Future opportunities for the industry with superfast broadband include the ability to increase access to an online audience for the large number of conferences currently hosted within the region. Additional infrastructure would provide further ability for the region to attract conferences enhancing the economic impact of business tourism. Tourism operators are also exploring the opportunities for increased customisation of their consumer experience and collaboration with other industry sectors such as education and research to allow them to operate in hitherto unforeseen collaborative spaces.
Our local Regional Tourism Organisations are committed and ready to support the dissemination of skills and knowledge to ensure our tourism operators are ahead in terms of digital innovation when competing in this competitive international marketplace. Tourism destinations are also set to benefit
through the opportunities for delivery of targeted and customer focused content which is to be channelled through a range of new platforms.
