SAE Institute is a successful global network of campuses offering programs in audio engineering, digital film making, multimedia and animation, all of which are delivered using SAE Institute's proven teaching method that combines sound theoretical knowledge with invaluable hands-on training.
SAE Institute Byron Bay was launched as the regional head office in 2002. It is now recognised as a government-accredited, degree granting institution. It serves as a centre of excellence and gives students around the world a unique opportunity to study at a campus that not only offers amazing facilities, but is also situated in an idyllic paradise. SAE Institute's annual turnover is in the region of $10 million for the region alone with over 230 employees Australia wide.
The introduction of the NBN would dramatically improve the number and quality of the online and on campus courses provided by SAE Institute. The teaching of Audio and Film subjects demands a high level of bandwidth which is currently lacking due to poor network services available in the Byron Bay region.
The establishment of a high speed broadband network would enable SAE Institute to:
- expand the services delivered to students;
- introduce online courses in for all Audio, Film and Game courses;
- more accurately monitor the procedures on the various off site campuses in the area of Workplace Health and Safety;
- attract and retain new staff, and;
- improve connectivity with the local community.
"We have several campuses around the world which we manage from our Byron Bay headquarters. Faster connectivity will enable us to remotely monitor procedures from our Australian home base with greater control, and expand our training programs, which will in turn create substantial economic benefits".
Phil Dohna, National IT Coordinator SAE Group Australia - Byron Bay
