Mememe Productions is an international children’s television production company that is creating 'out there' children's programming for a new generation of content seekers. This company, based in the Richmond Valley, began with a small but strong creative base and is now growing exponentially with an annual turnover of around $10 million.

The head office of two staff work with a team of 171 people worldwide including 25 in NSW North Coast.

Broadband access is critical to this business’s operations with the Directors spending at least 17 hour per day on-line including 3-4 hours of Skype per day, editing on real time across three countries and handling over 6Gb of data a week in edits alone.

The success of this production company is displayed by their international contracts with the ABC, BBC and CBC. There are also spin-off opportunities currently being explored such as merchandising. The current limitations in IT infrastructure are dissuading any expansion plans locally, as the directors feel the company may be better off taking these opportunities to the city, where the online orders could be better handled.

They feel they do not have the capacity here to grow any further with the system they have and so will look to growing the business in the city rather than regionally.
